Ecosystems & Global Change

Understanding ecosystem structure and functioning is a fundamental goal of ecology and critical to the prediction and mitigation of human-caused global environmental change.  This course develops theoretical and technical expertise in the physical, chemical and biological processes regulating the pools and fluxes of energy and materials into, out of, and within ecosystems and considers the application of this expertise to ecosystem management and restoration in a changing environment.
